Mike Dempsey's design business tips / Daniel gets a bit emotional

I'm a sucker for lists of business commandments … I'd make a great prophet.

Ahem.

Anyway … as I sit on the verge of a Terrifying Professional Adventure (more on which soon), I'm trying to absorb as much wisdom as possible from other creative sorts. This involves hours of staring at the blogs of Ben Terrett, Khoi Vinh, David Airey, Frank Chimero and, of course, Mr Dempsey (plus many others – one day I'll share my RSS subs list with you). One of the things I absolutely love about this industry is that people are so willing to share the stuff that's going on in their heads. On screen and in person, I've met some smashing, inspirational folks thanks to the medium of bloggery (and more recently, micro-bloggery). It's an amazing community to be in, and one that shouldn't be taken for granted.

For quite some time, I've been in a position where I haven't been able to be as open as I'd have liked to have been about my work and processes and influences and whatnot. That is going to change (seriously, more on which soon … be patient) and Swiss Cheese and Bullets will be at the centre of it all. In the meantime, I'd just like to say thank you to my lovely readers, subscribers, followers, commenters, etc.

You keep me thinking. You're all brillig.

Looking forward to your subscription list, Daniel, and thanks for the mention. Very glad my site has been of some use to you.

Quantum Leap? "Oh boy."

Redonculously exciting stuff, and rather lovely post.

Sounds like the adventure is just beginning.

In return I'd like to thank you for the ever entertaining blog posts and twittering. I'm glad I was fortunate enough to have bumped into SCANDB while browsing this big old interwebnet thing.

@Loz Thanks mate – An integral part of my homestudionest will of course be a selection of Preston's finest posters ;D

@David – You're most welcome. I've started on the list and – oh boy – is it long.

@Daniel – I pride myself on bringing the redoncule.

@Mick – Thanks for the kind words, and you're most welcome! *blush*

Ooo, interesting news. Good luck with everything (not that I know what it is). This has become one of my favourite blogs, your posts are always interesting, just the right length – the only negative is that they usually end with me spending money.

@Rajesh – Thanks … although you might regret making that offer!

@Luke – High praise indeed! All my favourite blogs usually drain my pockets too :)
