Design Legoflesh
I have a thing for yellow. Not just any yellow, but that very particular shade of almost-on-the-cusp-of-orange yellow. I think it may have something to do with playing with Lego too much as a child … and teenager … and adult … and, let's be honest, right now (please note: "Lego", not "Legos". If you say "Legos" then you aren't welcome around these parts, sonny).
So it started with those little smiley heads and c-shaped hands all over the carpet (apologies to my dad's feet) … and now that I'm a designer, it's like catnip. If I see something that colour – especially when combined with a nice mid-grey – chances are I'll like it just that little bit more. I'm collating all found legoflesh lovelies with Gimme Bar, this week's new thing for bookmarking images (so far it's rather good). A few highlights:
1958 Lego System Dealer Catalogue, from Brick Fetish.
Grafik cover by Michael Bojkowski.
It's Blitz by Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Fürst mechanical pencil from Herb Lester.
A picture of Dr B and myself in our little home office (from Wanken).
Lufthansa and Graphic Design designed by A5.
A big old pile of loveliness by Because Studio.
Part2ism designed by Lazenby Brown.
The first rule of colour: sit Roger Moore on top of it and you can't go wrong.
