High Fidelity

Watched High Fidelity with Dr B the other night. Although we had to keep pausing it so that I could explain that, yes, men are that idiotic, I think she enjoyed it. And so she should – it’s a bloody good film, a perfect addition to the john-cuss-rom-com genre (alongside The Sure Thing, Say Anything and Grosse Point Blank). It’s pretty much perfect from beginning to end. Except …

Have you seen the soundtrack? There are only fifteen songs on it. Fifteen. This film should be accompanied by the most awesome three-disc musical education of a soundtrack the universe has ever seen. But no. Just a few token songs to just about make it worth your money.

Rubbish.
