I hope you all watched the launch of mission STS 134 earlier. Watching it live over the web (with obligatory twitter accompaniment) was oddly nerve-wracking and exhilerating. I'm now very excited (and a little sad) about the final, final Shuttle launch on 12 July. It bugs me that some people are completely apathetic about these things: it's a SPACESHIP full of SPACEMEN going into SPACE, for crying out loud! As I've said before: we are science fiction, and we shouldn't take that for granted.

I managed to jump onto ustream a few moments before launch and it was spectacular. I've never seen anything like it before.
I'm really, really, REALLY annoyed that I missed seeing the launch. I was looking forward to it, and then I just collapsed in some form of brain dead exhaustion. I'll find a video somewhere, even if that isn't nearly as amazing. :|
Also, I find it hilarious that the pictures for the crew are totally like those of the character profiles for Battlestar Galactica and the Stargate series.
